Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Wylie Franklin Gregory, Jr., 81, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at his home. Wylie was born April 3, 1942, in Rock Hill, SC, and was a son of the late Wylie Franklin Gregory, Sr. and the late Dorothy Crowder Gregory.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
Wylie enjoyed an over 40-year career at Bowater Papermill before retiring. He will be remembered for his passion for fishing, annual trips to the beach and attending Clemson Tiger football games, all of which he most enjoyed doing with his family. He was also an active member of Northside Baptist Church where he served on several committees.
Wylie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Brenda H. Gregory; his daughters, Leigh G. Williams (Ted) and Jennifer G. Wilson (Andy); his son, Michael Gregory (Amy); his brothers, Donald Gregory, Marion Gregory and Jack Gregory; seven grandchildren, Drew Wilson (Tricia); Jay Williams; Brent Wilson (Abigail); Alex Wilson (Emma); Elizabeth Ruth (Michael); Reid Williams and Carter Gregory; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Wylie’s name to Northside Baptist Church, 1140 Curtis Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
