Rock Hill, SC – Mr. William Thomas Henry “Tom”, 80, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at his home.

Born on January 23, 1944 in Winston Salem, NC, Mr. Henry was the son of the late Thomas Blair Henry and the late Norma Owen Henry Eubanks.

Tom is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Wallace Henry; his daughter Candace (Karl) Lyles of Rock Hill, SC; grand-daughter, Gretchen Simon of Charlotte, NC; his sisters Pam Henry (Betsy Johnson) and Terry Lynn Henry; a brother, Robert Henry and several nieces and nephews.

Tom graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1962. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and served his country as captain in Vietnam from 1967-1968. Though out his life, he battled many years with complications due to cancer from Agent Orange that he obtained during serving his country.

Tom loved golf; he has played hundreds of different courses over his years. Says he wasn’t good at it, but had 5 hole-in-one. He and Janice have traveled all 50 states and six countries during their marriage. Tom was a friend to everyone he met, he always said he had the gift of gab.  He especially enjoyed entertaining his friends with a glass of wine and conversating on bourbon.

Tom and his family moved to SC in 1978, he worked in Computer Systems and was a manager in Computer Science Services. He also worked in Coca- Cola in Charlotte, NC as a branch manager in the support system. Tom went to Limestone University, and earned his BS Degree in May of 1983.

Tom was a member of Data Processing Management Assoc., the Administrative Management Society, and was named to the Global Register’s “Who’s Who in Executive and Professionals”. He served as past president of the Rock Hill Breakfast Rotary Club form 2003-2004.  He was the Vice-President of IT firm Cox-Little & Company in Charlotte, where he then retired in 2009.

A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held at the home of Tom and Janice Henry on Saturday, July 27,2024 from 2 – 4pm. 668 Waterford Glen Way, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

In addition the family will be having another Celebration of life in Winston Salem on Saturday, August 10, 2024 form 2 – 4pm at the home of David Wallace and Judy Hunt.  1514 Overbrook Ave. Winston Salem, NC 27104.
