Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Velma Marie Schramm, 88, entered into her heavenly home on Friday February 3, 2023 at her home.
She was born on August 30, 1934 in Finzel, Maryland the oldest child of the late Frank Edgar Arnold and Mabel Anna Clark Arnold. Velma was also preceded in death by her late husband of 63 years Charles “Rammy” Schramm, a brother Bobby Arnold and a great grandson Kingston Woods.
Velma was employed by C&P Telephone Company in Cumberland, Maryland and Southern Bell/AT&T in Charlotte, NC retiring with 34 years of service. Following her retirement she went back to work for a few years for Rock Hill Telephone Company in Marketing and Human Resources. After working Velma moved to Myrtle Beach with her husband at the KOA Campground where they have resided for the past 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with all her friends there, playing cards, and going out to dinner. She also enjoyed doing all types of crafts and making candy. Velma was also a member of the Rock Hill Elks Club, Rock Hill Moose Lodge, and the Cumberland Moose Lodge in Cumberland, MD where she was an officer. Prior to moving to Rock Hill 43 years ago she lived in Frostburg, Maryland where she also owned Charlies Motel in Frostburg, Maryland with her husband.
Mrs. Schramm is survived by her two daughters Lisa Schramm Wilson of Rock Hill and Krista Schramm Neil of Edgemoor, SC; three sisters, Sheila Pappas (George) of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland, Nelda Nolan (John) of Cockeysville, Maryland, and Eileen McFarland (Ed) of Middletown, DE; one brother Dale Arnold (Sharon) of Palm Desert, California; her grandchildren Kacie Bryant (Keisha), Heather Mitchell (Tyler), Kelsey Woods (Kenon), Wade Wilson, and Tyler Wilson; and her great grandchildren Cali Mitchell, Aubree Mitchell and Kenlee Woods and several Nieces and Nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 11, 2023 with Father John Giuliani officiating at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter Lisa Wilson at 616 Ottawa Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
