Rock Hill, SC – Valerie Lynn Corbett Everette, 59, of Rock Hill, South Carolina passed away peacefully and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 5, 2023.
Funeral service will be at 2:45 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Southside Baptist Church, 1229 Anderson Road South, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Visitation with family and friends will be from 1:30 until 2:30 pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private at Forest Hills Cemetery following the service.
Valerie was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to several other states before settling in Raleigh, North Carolina as a teenager. She married her husband, James Everette in June of 1986 at Neuse Baptist Church in Raleigh. Valerie and her family settled in South Carolina. Valerie, by vocation, was a teacher and taught at several different Christian schools over her lifetime and loved investing in all of her students. Above everything, Valerie loved her family; they were everything to her. She was an active member at Southside Baptist Church in Rock Hill where she was “the candy lady” and had a passion for the children at Southside. She had the gift of making everyone smile and feel loved. Most importantly, Valerie gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and is in heaven today worshiping her Savior.
Valerie was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Lee Genovese Corbett, her daughters Kelsey Rae, Jamie Lynn, Kimberly Joy, and son Joshua Ross Everette.
Valerie leaves behind her husband of 37 years, James Everette; daughter, Sarah Rose Everette of Rock Hill; her father, Joseph Corbett of Pinehurst, NC; her brother, Eric (Tracy) Corbett of Pinehurst, NC; her sister, Karin (Jon) Potter of Southern Pines, NC; nephew, Jonathan Potter of Pinehurst, NC; niece, Nicole (Justin) Hall of Lillington, NC; nephew, Kyle Corbett of Charlotte, NC; niece, Karsen Corbett of Charlotte, NC; her sister-in-law, Faye Pass of Greenville, NC; as well as her large extended family all over the United States.
