Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Thomas Franklin Broome, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Baptist Church, 3520 Mt. Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Revs. Jerry Devinney and Johnny King officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 and other times at the home of his son, Marcus Broome, 1434 Hands Mill Highway, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Tommy was a native of Rock Hill, SC and was the son of the late Clarence R. Broome, Sr. and the late Julia Ayers Broome. He retired as District Manager of Suburban Propane in Charlotte, NC. After retirement, he worked at Champion Services for 10 years. Tommy loved playing golf and watching Westerns on television. He was a devoted member of Lakewood Baptist Church. Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was the most precious part of his life. He never missed a day telling his wife of 65 years how much he loved her and his children, as well.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Ginny Broome; their children, Donna B Millis (Greg); Patricia Parrish (Donnie); Frankie Broome (Deborah) and Marcus Broome; his brother, Russell Broome; his grandson, Blake Funderburk (Jennifer) and their children, Caroline Funderburk and Braylen Sawyer; his grandson, Craig Kennington (Taylor) and their children, Riley, Reese and Remi Kennington; his grandson, Ty Broome (Sarah) and their child, Thomas F. Broome, IV and precious baby Broome due in April 2025; his grandson, Michael Broome (Belinda) and their children, Emory, Presley and Paisley Broome; his granddaughter, Nichole Sanders (Cody) and grandson, Dallas Broome. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Elizabeth Craig, Maxine Cunnup and Jennifer Lynch.
