Rock Hill, SC – Sidney Holmes Fowler, 66, passed away on October 8, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.

He was born to the late Warren E. Fowler and Texie Holmes Fowler. He is survived by his wife, Donna Fowler; son; Dylan Fowler; daughters, Erica Fowler, Lauren Fowler (Ken Eversole); brothers, Earle Fowler (Nora), Damon Fowler; grandchildren, Tyler Eller, Logan Munn, Taylor Munn, Caden Eversole, Carragan Eversole; nephew, Matthew Fowler.

He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his family.  He was a man of God, who loved the church and even sang in the choir on Sundays until he got too ill to continue. If he couldn’t attend a service in person he would always watch from home.  He read his devotions every morning with a big cup of coffee right beside him. This man had a sparkle in his eyes and the biggest heart for faith. His unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.

He was a fighter; he was a believer and never let cancer take stop him from finding a little joy in every day.  Sidney was one of the most resilient people you would ever meet when it came to battling his long-term battle with cancer.  Many would count him out, but God had other plans for him. He would share his own testimonies to anyone he would meet and, in that moment, he would provide hope to others that needed it. He was filled with so much compassion for others and it showed through his sweet smile.

Sidney was also Clemson Tigers biggest fan.  You would find him every Saturday cheering on his Tigers and watching college football.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11 AM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732 with Dr. Jeff Hayes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Sidney Holmes Fowler’s name to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Carol Grotnes Belk Campus, 269 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
