Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Shirley Tilson Hilton, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at her home.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Don Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park-Hollis Lakes. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00-10:45 am at the funeral home.
Born in Huntersville, NC, Mrs. Hilton was the daughter of the late Charles Olin Tilson, Sr. and the late Grace Alice Johnston Tilson. She was a long-time, active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed participating in her circle group, Women of the Church, the Print Shop Ministry, among many other volunteer opportunities. She retired from Winthrop University where she served as a supervisor over the custodial staff. Mrs. Hilton was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking for them, especially on Sundays. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bobby Hilton.
Mrs. Hilton is survived by her daughter, Amanda H. Boone (Lee) of Rock Hill; her son, Wes Hilton (Elodia) of Chesnee, SC; her sisters, Nancy Edwards of Cornelius, NC and Judy Christopher of Huntersville, NC; five grandchildren, Thomas, Hilton and Grace Boone, Amanda Accampo (Joe) and Diego Sanchez; and great-grandchildren, Jax and Kynzie Boone and Leon, Roy and Charlie Accampo. She was preceded in death by eight siblings
