Rock Hill, SC – Shirley Bass Huffstetler, age 82, of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born in Blythewood, SC on May 26, 1942, to her late parents, Rev. Talmadge Ivey Bass Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Cato.  Shirley was a talented designer for Smith Enterprises for 26 years and later retired from Palmetto Investments.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Huffstetler of 63 years.  Her daughters, Kathy (Shann) Seay and Lisa Whisenant. Her 5 grandchildren, Josh (Suzanne) Whisenant, Cory (Amy) Seay, Casey (Logan) Seay, Matt (Melissa) Whisenant, and Lauren (Scott) Parker.  Also, her nine great grandchildren, Caiden Nguyen, Ridge Seay, Ava Whisenant. Silas Seay, Madelynn Whisenant, Deacon Seay, Maddox Whisenant, Mary Ella Seay, and Weston Parker.  Also, her siblings, Peggy (Butch) Greene, and Roger (Shirley) Bass.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  Her biggest priorities in life was her family.  She attended every function her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren had.  She assisted every grandchild through school.  As well as helping care for them as her own.  Shirley was the best Mawmaw to all.  She was a true example of a selfless loving woman.

She was a devoted member of Harvest Ministries Church of God of Prophecy where she served as the clerk and financial bookkeeper years before retiring.  She put her trust each day in her Lord and Savior.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Talmadge Ivey Bass Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Cato; and her brother and sister-in-law, Talmadge Bass Jr. “Buddy” and Linda Bass.

A funeral service will be held for Shirley Bass Huffstetler on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Harvest Ministries, 1211 S Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC.

The family will hold a visitation and receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM at the church.

Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
