Rock Hill, SC – Sherrill B. Troutman, 85, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home.
Sherrill was born on October 14, 1938, to the late Luther Swan Brown Sr. and Mary Louise Platt Brown in Clover, South Carolina. As a country girl, she grew up on the farm and always worked hard on the land. Sherrill was married to the late Gerald Lavern Troutman and together they founded Troutman Fiberglass Repairs in 1976, where they worked for many years. In her pastime, Sherill always loved dessert, cooking, and horses. She especially enjoyed crochet and taking care of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her late parents, Luther Swan Brown Sr. and Mary Louise Platt Brown; and her daughter, Lisa Ashley.
She survived by her children, Deborah Sturgis (Jeff), Earl Troutman (Phyllis), and Amanda Ashley (Jerry); her grandchildren, Jeff Sturgis Jr., Zach Sturgis, Anna Hutto, Amber Robinson, Dawn Lupyan, Dustin Troutman, Wyatt Troutman, Callie Troutman, Brandon Ashley, and Kaylee Ashley; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 2:00PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 12:30PM.
