Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Rodney Lane Robinson, 80, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
Born in Charlotte, NC, Mr. Robinson was the son of the late Macabe Robinson and the late Lucy Parker Robinson. He is preceded in death by his brother, Dean Robinson. Mr. Robinson enjoyed writing songs, and was a music enthusiast. He loved NASCAR and enjoyed playing golf, and fishing. Mr. Robinson was an auctioneer for the Federal Bankruptcy Court, including other events in the Charlotte, NC area. He also worked for Eastern Airlines prior to being an auctioneer. Most of all, Mr. Robinson enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a Sergeant in the Air Force overseas, where he was given the nickname “Hackenflash” by his fellow service members that remained with him for many years, following his service.
Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Patsy C. Robinson; his son, Jonathan McLean Robinson (Jennifer) of Columbia, SC; his daughters, Merri Martin (James) of Rock Hill, SC and Nicole White (Mark) of Apex, NC; his brother, Daron Robinson (Beverly); grandchildren, McLean, Lucy, Mary Lancaster, Cameron, Caleb, Mason, Brandon, Abigail, Emily and Preston; nephew, Lynn Robinson and his niece Angie Kiser. He will be greatly missed, and remembered by all.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Robinson will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, 1pm, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd., Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Barry Yates officiating. Family will receive friends before the service at 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Robinson’s name to American Legion Post 34 524 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
