Our beloved father, Robert “Reid” Carpenter Jr, transitioned from this world on the morning of October 4th, 2024. He had a quick wit, a warm heart, and a healthy respect for safety. Reid was a master of his craft, leaving every piece of wood he touched a work of art. His pièce de résistance was The Farm. There, he and Charmaine spent twenty years co-creating an oasis from raw materials, many of which were gathered from the land. Together they hosted raucous pig pickins, magical Christmas mornings, and the weddings of all three of their daughters.
Reid was always the life of the party. He loved to pick the guitar, swim in the ocean, run on the beach, and read in the sun. He was a poet, a beach bum, a creative, a loving father, and a dear Granddude. He leaves behind his three daughters; Micah, Courtney, and Gabriella; his wife and the love of his life, Charmaine; two grandbabies, Avi and Eloise; three sisters, Lyn, Laurie, and Liza; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being made for a celebration of life on Sullivan’s Island, after the tourists are gone for the season. Contact Micah for more details.
