Catawba, SC – Mr. Robert Earl Shaw, 73, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born in Malvern, AK, Mr. Shaw was the son of the late Roy Shaw and Bessie Bernice Ledbetter Shaw. He was the proud owner and the operator of R E Shaw Inc., a concrete business founded in 1973 in Florida, where he spent most of his life. He was a kind and gentle soul who never hesitated to lend a helping hand when someone was in need and loved his family dearly. He could generally be found watching a Dallas Cowboys game, outside in a garden, or just basking in the sunlight while spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Shaw, his daughter, Diane Shaw; stepson John Thomas Cox (TC); stepdaughters Brandi Brown (Adam), Lynn Hammond, and Nicole Lambert. He is also survived by his grandchildren Taylor, Maggie, Alena, Brycen, Elijah, Olivia and Brooks; his brother, Michael Holt (Joanne); sisters Glenda Banner (Jim), Judy Hall (Larry), and Jacklynn Rajab. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Clark Wayne Hoertsch and Bernice L Hoertsch; a brother, Otis Roy Shaw; two sisters, Janie Blankenship and Nina Shaw; and a son-in-law, James.
All services celebrating his life will be private. In lieu of flowers Bobbie’s wishes were for donations to be made to Boys Ranch at calfarley.org, Hospice & Community Care at hospicecommunitycare.org or a charitable organization of your choice.
