Mrs. Rachel McGuirt Sweatt, 86, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at her home.
Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Eastview Baptist Church, 1430 Gordon Road, with Rev. Larry Nunn officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church.
Rachel was born in Rock Hill, SC, and was the daughter of the late Hugh McGuirt and the late Lillian Tinkler McGuirt. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Pete McGuirt, Buck McGuirt, Jake McGuirt, her sisters, Frances Nunn, Faye Cooper, Martha Lucas, Lucille Turner, and Mildred Timmons. She was a homemaker whose favorite thing was serving her family. She loved cooking, beach trips, and taking care of children. She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church for over fifty years.
Surviving are her spouse, James Franklin Sweatt; two daughters, Kimberly Robinson of Rock Hill, SC, and Deana (Jim) Banks of Franklin, NC; two brothers, Ralph (Ann) McGuirt of Rock Hill, SC and Roger (Brenda) McGuirt of Rock Hill, SC; three grandchildren, Kyle Corley, Brittany (Tyler) Merchant, Heath Robinson; and her six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rachel’s honor to Eastview Baptist Church 1430 Gordon Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
