Rock Hill – Mrs. Peggy Louise Duncan Casey, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Piedmont Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. T. Mark Verdery officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church.
Born in Marion, NC, Mrs. Casey was the daughter of the late Samuel Rufus Duncan and the late Isabelle Turner Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Casey, Sr.; her brothers, Truman Duncan and his wife, Grace, and Billy Wayne Parker; and her sister, Maryann Wilson and her husband, Jerry. She began in real estate in 1977 with Southern Realty and retired in 2010 from Allen Tate. She was voted Realtor of the Year by her peers in 1984. She loved working in her yard, reading and cooking. She was an animal lover and shared her cooking with her friends and neighbors. Peggy’s friends and family thought she was the kindest, sweetest person they had ever met. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1975 and served as a deacon and elder and also taught Sunday school.
Surviving are her son, John F. (Brittany) Casey Jr. of Blackstock, SC; five brothers, Robert (Nancy) Parker, Butch (Shirley) Parker, Paul Miller, and Joe Miller, all of Marion, NC, and Roger (Patricia) Parker of Rock Hill; and her sister, Donna Miller of Marion, NC.
