Rock Hill, SC – The family would like to share that Peggy Carter Weathers departed this world into the arms of Jesus on September 29, 2024 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Born on December 20, 1933, in Rock Hill, SC, Peggy was the beloved daughter of the late Ray H. and Eura Phillips Carter. She graduated from Rock Hill High School and North Greenville University. Upon graduation from college, Peggy worked in the Payroll Department at Celanese Corporation. She greatly cherished her role as mother and wife of Fred E. Weathers for sixty-seven years.  Her talent and dedication shone brightly as she served Jesus Christ with her whole heart. A lifelong member of Catawba Baptist Church, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, Girls in Action, and served in various leadership roles throughout the church. Peggy loved her church with her whole heart. She was known for her excellent cooking skills, craft work, sewing and displaying hospitality and kindness to friends and acquaintances. Her love for flowers was evident in the various types of lilies and flowers that she grew and enjoyed, and shared with others.

Peggy is survived by her children, Stanley Eugene Weathers (Patsy), Janet Weathers Morris (Gary), both from Rock Hill, and Kenneth Carter Weathers (Wendy) of Ozark, Alabama; her remaining siblings, Thomas B. Carter and Betty C. Steele; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren whom she adored, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert F. Carter and Ray J. Carter.

Her friends were too many to count and were all touched by her love and kindness. The family would like to thank the community of Chandler Place Independent Living, and her wonderful friends made while living there the final years of her life. In addition, the family is grateful for the nurse angels at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice and Community Care House.

A service celebrating Peggy’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 South Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29730. The family will welcome friends from 10:00-10:45 am with the service beginning at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at other times at the home of her daughter, Janet and Gary Morris, 3591 Walker Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
