Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Norma Threatt Currence, 83, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Kenny McKown officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park-Cherry Road, 620 S. Cherry Road. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm at the funeral home.
Born on September 14, 1940 in York County, SC, Mrs. Currence was the daughter of the late Lewis Threatt and Edith Hartsell Threatt. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and a 1959 graduate of Rock Hill High School. She worked as a secretary from 1969-1997 at the Bleachery. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Currence is survived by her daughters, Susan Sauvigne (Craig) and Page Bowden (Bernie); grandchildren, Brittney Garcia (Luis), Bella Bowden, Sophie Bowden and Quin Bowden; and her brother, Richard Lewis Threatt (Janice) of Rock Hill. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Ann Norton and Jane Workman. She was the widow of Thomas William Currence, to whom she was married to for 59 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Currence’s name to Antioch United Methodist Church, 930 W. Rambo Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
