Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Myrtis Clay McMurray Funk, 95, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Friendship United Methodist Church, 1200 Neely Store Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730 with Reverend Nellie Cloninger officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm on Thursday prior to the service.
Born in Lancaster, SC, Mrs. Funk was the daughter of the late Grady McMurray and the late Carrie Neal McMurray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Jack Funk and her son, John Gregory Funk; three sisters, Ann Elizabeth Ingram, Louise “Weezie” Eaker and Evelyn “Ebb” Starnes. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church where participated in the United Methodist Women’s Circle, Hobby Club and Amity Club .
Mrs. Funk is survived by her daughter, Debbie Threatt of Rock Hill; three grandchildren, Daniel Clay (Alicia) Roberts, Joseph Gregory Roberts and Carrie (James) Broome; three great-grandchildren, Kannon Osborne, Nolan Broome, Piper Grace Broome and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Funk’s name to Friendship United Methodist Church, 1200 Neely Store Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
