Southern Pines, NC – Mary Hambright Wise died on May 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband John Joseph Wise.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Elisabeth Wise, Harriet Wise Speight and her son in law, Jackie all of Pinehurst, NC. Also surviving are her beloved grandsons Joseph Alexander Speight and wife, Jenna of Greensboro, NC and John Wise Speight of Pinehurst, NC and great grandsons, Joseph Alexander Speight, Jr. (Alex), Jeffery Edward Speight (Ward) and Jackson Wise Speight. She is also survived by her special godson, Randy Graham of Rock Hill.
Mary was born in Rock Hill on August 17, 1921 to James Carl Hambright and Harriet Moore Hambright. She graduated from Rock Hill High School and Winthrop College.
A graveside service will be held on May 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
