Rock Hill, SC – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marlie Dru Sullivan of Rock Hill. She was 15.
Marlie, a rising sophomore at Rock Hill High School, was passionate about her family, friends and dance. She was an avid dancer with Step South Dance Company, where her love of dance was cultivated at the age of 4 years old. The dance studio was like her second home, where she was surrounded by lifelong friends and the most amazing teachers. She had aspirations of being a part of a collegiate dance team and eventually opening her own dance studio where she could continue to inspire and nurture young dancers. When not at dance, she was always found surrounded by the best of friends and her little brother Cooper, who considered Marlie his hero. Her kind heart and radiant smile were her trademarks and earned her the love and admiration of all who knew her. To know Marlie was to love Marlie! She impacted so many, and we are fortunate to have had her in our lives.
She will be missed tremendously by her parents, Ben and Stacie, and her little brother Cooper. Her maternal grandparents, “Papa” Jack and “Nanny” Joleen Sullivan, of Fort Mill. Her aunt and uncle Tanja and Marshall DePass and their boys Hartley (Madeline) and Brycen of Isle of Palms. Her paternal grandparents, “Papa” Benny and, “Nana” Brenda Sullivan. Her aunt and uncle Nicole and Michael Mills and their daughter Sulli, all of Pageland.
Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering and celebrating Marlie’s life. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1st, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, located at 321 S Oakland Avenue. The family asks that you celebrate by wearing bright colors. After the service, please join us at Forest Hills Cemetery located at 4290 Old York Road.
