Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Lura McCutchen Holler, 88, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at her home.
The service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Saint John’s United Methodist Church, 321 S. Oakland Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29730, with Matt Yon officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC.
Born in Hartsville, SC, Mrs. Holler was the daughter of the late John McCutchen and the late Nell Funderburke McCutchen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Carlisle Holler, Jr. and her son, Edward Holler.
Mrs. Holler was an active member of St. John’s Methodist Church. She was a member of the church choir and of the Barber Hardin Sunday school class. She was also a member of the York County Choral Society, Floribunda Garden Club, the Rock Hill Music Club, and the Debutante Club of Rock Hill. In addition to these wonderful organizations, she was also a member of the Atlantic Coast Camellia Society, the York County Medical Society and was a volunteer at the York County Nature Museum.
Surviving are her daughter, Margaret H. Graves (Andrew); three sons, Carlisle Holler (Mary), John Holler (Kristi), and Dean Holler (Marti); her grandchildren, Beth Holler Jacobs (David), Sara Holler Foss (Jim), Anna Graves Wiley (Keenan), Glenna Graves Worrell (Alex), John Holler (Jillian), Hughes Holler, Emily Holler, and Adley Holler; her great-grandchildren, Caroline Foss, James Foss, Cal Jacobs, Landon Jacobs, Cannon Wiley, Bowen Wiley, Anna Corbin Worrell, and Margaret Carlisle Worrell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Holler’s name to Saint John’s Methodist Church Music Program, 321 S. Oakland Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to the charity of one’s choice.
