Rock Hill, SC – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lorraine Hunter at the age of 86, in her Rock Hill residence on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
The funeral service honoring Mrs. Hunter’s life will be held at India Hook United Methodist Church, 3300 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11:00 am. The service will be led by Reverend Michael Walker. Following the service, Mrs. Hunter will be laid to rest at Grandview Memorial Park, Hollis Lakes Road, Rock Hill. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
Mrs. Hunter was born in York County, SC, to the late Billy Parks McClain and the late Ruby Lodonna Steele. She was widowed by her husband, Robert Keith Hunter; also preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Lodonna Hunter Sanders; her brother, Arthur McClain. Mrs. Hunter dedicated many years of her career to Celanese Corporation before her retirement. She was a devoted member of the India Hook United Methodist Church throughout her life.
Mrs. Hunter leaves behind her grandson, Benjamin Sanders of Rock Hill; two sisters, Sharon (Donny) Neely and Gayle (Wayne) Hall, both of Rock Hill; and several beloved nephews and nieces; Brian Neely, Jan Hall, Amy Hall, Lisa Faile, and Allison Boone.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Mrs. Lorraine Hunter to India Hook United Methodist Church, 3300 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
