Rock Hill, SC – Lona Gilmore, 69, of Rock Hill entered into eternal rest in the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 2, 2024. Grace has led her home.
A memorial service for Mrs. Gilmore will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2024 at the Living Water Chapel, 4000 India Hook Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732, Westminster Presbyterian Park, with the Reverend Andy Putnam officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:55 PM prior to the service at the Living Water Chapel. .
Lona is survived by a sister, Ann, of Whitten Center (SC), a brother, Bill (Shanda), of Rock Hill, SC, a nephew, Will of Blacksburg, SC, Camp Cherokee, and a niece, Emma of Philadelphia, PA.
Lona struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for over twenty years. She wants to thank her girlfriends of decades for their unwavering presence and help throughout her journey on earth, especially in the last several years when other medical problems arose. You showed Lona love and kindness every day – in actions, not words. As the saying goes, “If life was a river, friendships were the life raft.” She wants you women to know how much you were loved and cherished.
On this earth, Lona found her greatest love in the presence of dogs. Lona’s ashes will be intertwined with the ashes of the dogs of her adulthood; Louie, Maggie, Hugo, Jackson, Grace and Shiloh.
