Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Linda Darnell Jenkins, 73, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Darnell was born in Rock Hill, SC, and was the daughter of the late John Boyd Queen and the late Pauline Hyatt Queen. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gerald W Jenkins, and her sister, Janice Q Devinney. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist in Richburg and retired from the Rock Hill District Three School system as a teacher assistant. She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, class of 1969.
Services for Darnell will be held 11:00 am, Friday, April 4, 2025 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill with Reverend Stacy Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
Darnell is survived by her husband, Windell R. Jenkins, Sr.; her daughter, Brandy (James) Thompson of Chester, SC; her son, Windell R. Jenkins, Jr. and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent in Darnell name to National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina, 5000 Thurmond Mall, Suite 106, Columbia, SC 29201.
