Lawrence “Scott” Collins, age 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at his home in Rock Hill, SC. He was the widower of Denise Collins. They shared 15 years of marriage.
Scott was born at Alexandria Hospital in VA, and quickly was whisked away to his hometown, Manassas, Virginia. He attended Stonewall Jackson Senior High School. Scott was a long-time member of the church of Christ. He attended the Manassas church of Christ until he moved to Rock Hill, SC, where he became an active, engaged member at the Charlotte Avenue Congregation. He loved Jesus and his church family. Scott was always available to lend a hand, a smile and a story. He loved fishing, gardening, Dad jokes, and driving on country roads.
He is survived by his beautiful daughter, Melissa Klase, of San Diego, his beloved mother, Agnes Collins, and his two siblings, Timothy Collins and Kathy Collins Maguire, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his two nephews Timothy Collins, Jr., Jonathan Andrew Collins; niece, Victoria Grace Collins.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Charlotte Avenue church of Christ in Rock Hill, SC on Thursday, March 07, at 7 pm. Another Memorial Service will be held at his hometown congregation, the Manassas church of Christ, date and time to be determined.
Scott’s family covets your prayers for strength and comfort in the coming days. Gifts of flowers, donations to help with funeral costs, or donations to Scott’s favorite charity, Baskets of Blessings (via Charlotte Avenue church of Christ) are all welcome but by no means necessary.
