Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Kenneth Eugene Taylor, 87, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church, 1140 Curtis Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 with Reverends Jerry Sosebee and Scott Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service in the sanctuary. The service can be viewed on youtube.com/@nbcrh.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Greer, SC and the son of the late Wesley Eugene Taylor and the late Lillian Burgin Taylor. He was very involved at Northside Baptist Church where he was a member since 1969. He served as a Deacon and on various church committees. Mr. Taylor retired as Manager of Commercial Credit in Rock Hill where he worked for over 30 years. He taught Sunday school to youth for over 40 years and enjoyed serving in local and international missions. Mr. Taylor also loved tending to his muscadine vines in the “Back 40.”
Mr. Taylor married Sarah Lockhart in June, 1964. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kenneth Eugene Taylor, Jr.; two daughters, Jane Taylor Haviland (Dave) of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Ann Kennedy (Scott); two sisters, Peggy Leonard of Greer, SC and Brenda Black of Jacksonville, FL; and five grandchildren, James “Max” Taylor, Georgia Taylor, Taylor Haviland, William Kennedy and Chase Kennedy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Taylor’s name to Northside Baptist Church, On Missions Team, 1140 Curtis Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
