Katherine (Kat) Habrukowich, of York, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2025.
Born on September 15, 1988, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Kat lived in Somerset, New Jersey; Tampa, Florida; and York, South Carolina. She is survived by her parents, Phil and Jean Habrukowich, and her brother, Evan Habrukowich. Surviving uncles are Don Ruda and his wife Susan of Ness City, Kansas and Alan Ruda and his wife Donna of East Bush, New York, and aunts Judy Fisher of McDonald, Kansas and Sandra Habrukowich of Newtown, Pennsylvania, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, especially Jeremy Draxler and Vincent Minichiello. She also leaves behind her beloved pups, Gus-Gus and Stuart.
Kat graduated from high school in Somerset, New Jersey, attended Raritan Valley Community College, the University of Tampa and graduated from Chamberlain University in Charlotte with a BSN in Nursing, working as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse, a role she loved and where she touched many lives with her compassion and strength.
Creative and full of life, Kat co-launched the successful YouTube channel Comic Trips, where she traveled across the U.S. and Canada in search of rare comics and collectibles. She was passionate about many things—nursing, comic books, traveling with friends, Disney, Legos, video games—but most of all, her pups.
A funeral mass for Kat will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at All Saints Catholic Church, 530 Highway 274, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.
In lieu of flowers, Kat would have wanted donations to be made to local pet shelters in her memory.
