Rock Hill, SC – After four years of battling a debilitating vascular disease, with its many surgeries, severe pain, and other side effects, Kari Summer Schake died at home in Rock Hill on May 7, 2024.
Kari was born on April 6, 1973, to Benjamin Hal Summer and Joanne Smith Gaskins. She was the beloved wife of Paul Kent Schake, Jr. and the cherished mother of Katharine Shellem Harper (Shelley), Emily Jane Harper (Emma), and Brooke Ann Schake.
Kari received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of South Carolina and her Masters of Education from Winthrop University. She was currently employed at Williams and Fudge, Inc. She will be remembered lovingly by her extended family and her many friends.
Oakland Baptist Church will host the immediate family only for a private funeral. A drop-in Celebration of Kari’s Life will be held from 1-5 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the family home, 610 Knighton Hill Road in Rock Hill. Friends of Kari and her family are invited to attend.
