John L. Bell, 79, of Rock Hill, passed away peacefully in his home on September 21. A proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, John dedicated his life to serving others, first as a member of the United States Air Force and later as a Certified Public Accountant for 45 years, making a lasting impact in his community.
John was preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Kathleen Bell, and his sister, Patsy Hall. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Gayle Bell of Rock Hill; his daughter, Stephanie Bell; and son-in-law, Thomas Bugge of Guemes Island, WA. He also leaves behind his cherished niece, Jennifer Noland and her husband Alan of Southport, NC; nephews Tim Hall and his wife Karen of Raleigh, NC; and Matthew Hall and his wife Ellie of Durham, NC; as well as numerous grandnephews and grandnieces.
A memorial service to honor John’s life will be held at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of York County at www.humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org a cause dear to John’s heart.
John’s warmth, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
