Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Jerry Wayne Lark, 68, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Visitation for Jerry will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Reverend Ben Maynard officiating.
Born in Rock Hill, Jerry was the son of the late William Perry Lark and the late Claudie Ellen Carnes. He was a 1974 graduate of Rock Hill High School and active at Living By Faith Church in York, SC. In his life, Jerry put his Lord and Saviour first, followed by his family and friends. He grew up in Rock Hill in the Aragon Mill Community and during his career as a fabricator he worked for Owlsey, the City of Fort Mill and Carmel Country Club. Jerry was such a talented man. Whether it was wood or metal, there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix or make with his hands. Jerry was well known for dirt track racing. What began as a hobby, was really like a second career. He raced in North and South Carolina, especially in Lancaster, Chester and I-85 tracks. Jerry made many friends throughout his racing years and especially loved his “besties.” Family was dear to Jerry’s heart and he loved visiting his relatives in the Great Smokey Mountains.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Donice Lark; his son, Derrick Lark (Miki) of Greer, SC; his daughter, Jodi Lark (Billy) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister, Gale Lark Sanford (Fred) of Pickens, SC; his grandson, William Andrew Lark and his nieces, Heather and Lauren Sanford.
Memorials may be made in Jerry’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
