It is with great sadness that the family of Jeff Carlton Eisentrout announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, March 29, 2025 after a brief illness.

Born in Titusville, PA on March 8, 1954, Jeff was the son of the late Howard Carl Eisentrout and Betty Rose Eisentrout.  He spent the majority of his childhood in Pennsylvania, where he developed a lifelong passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers and perfected the Terrible Towel twirl.  The family moved to Logansport, Indiana, where Jeff attended high school.  His high school years were some of his fondest, both because of the friendships he made and his involvement in his band, Machine.  The band formed quite a following, and Jeff’s love of all types of music continued throughout his life.  He had a mild obsession with The Rolling Stones, whom he saw in concert several times.  After graduating from high school, he attended Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!), where he obtained a degree in Accounting.  He spent most of his career in the textile industry, where he was known for both his hard work and dedication.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed traveling, cooking and being with family and friends.  In addition, he was very interested in Indian artifacts and had acquired an  extensive collection of which he was very proud.  He had a natural zest for life and an incredible sense of humor.  Always up for an adventure, he never met a stranger.  Others truly enjoyed Jeff’s company.  Jeff loved his family deeply and was a devoted husband and father.  He also faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Rock Hill, South Carolina for the last 22 years, where he experienced true belonging as a believer in both the larger church community and in his Life and Discipleship groups.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Claire; his two daughters, Libby and Caroline; a sister, Lynn (John) Ristedt of Mesa, Arizona and several nieces.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jeff at First Baptist Church of Rock Hill, South Carolina on Sunday, April 13, 2025.  The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m., followed by the service at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeff’s name to First Baptist Church, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730 or The Salvation Army, 119 South Charlotte Avenue, Rock Hill, South Carolina 29730.
