Jeanette Ilene Lengacher-Anderson passed away peacefully in her home on May 20, 2024. Jeanette was a remarkable human who embodied love, radiated kindness, and lived a life of intense curiosity.
Born on January 16, 1949, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Jacob and Margaret Lengacher, Jeanette was bold, brave, and wildly inquisitive. Her curiosity about the world was the foundation for a life full of deep friendships. Her passion for living touched all she encountered.
Motherhood was Jeanette’s great calling. She poured her heart and soul into the early lives of her three daughters and loved watching her grandchildren grow. She embodied a radical love and inclusivity that transformed lives; and beyond her family, she mentored, loved, and guided so many.
Jeanette is survived by her three daughters, Carrie Anderson, Amelia Anderson (Joe Sprouse), and Leah McCraney (Dennis); her grandchildren Anderson Kirk, Whitman and Sophia McCraney; and her former husband and friend, Dirk Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Margaret Lengacher; her siblings Larry Lengacher, Louetta Yoder, and Loren Lengacher; and her grandson, Nolan McCraney.
