Rock Hill, SC – Janet Barclay Lehman passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the age of 86 on August 5th, 2023 in Rock Hill, SC. She was born on April 26th, 1937 in Hyndman, PA to Myrtle Kelly Barclay and Fuller Richard Barclay. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Lehman Sr. (1993). She is survived by sons, Don Lehman Jr. and Dan Lehman (Ann Lehman). Grandchildren, Tyler Lehman (Andrea Duvnjak Lehman), LeighAnn Lehman Evans (Daquan Evans), Taylor Lehman Rebh (Cody Rebh), and Daniel Lehman Jr.
Janet married her high school sweetheart, Don Sr., in 1957. The two later moved to Rock Hill, SC in 1981 with Celanese Trucking. She enjoyed bowling leagues, Senior Olympics, spending time with her family, and raising her boys. Janet worked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Cumberland Memorial Hospital, and Piedmont Medical Center as a medical coder until the age of 65. Once retired, she enjoyed traveling the country and dinners with the “Merry Widow’s.” Most of all, she enjoyed attending every single sport’s event, performance, graduation, and wedding for all her grandchildren. Janet was caring, loving, and generous – so much so that she opened her home up to William “Bill” Newberry who became part of Janet’s family. Janet lived a long joyful life as a breast cancer survivor. She is now at peace, as is her family.
The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill 29732 on Wednesday August 9th from 11:00-11:45 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon with a graveside service to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Additionally, the family invites friends and family to drop in at her son’s home on Wednesday following all services at 2:00 pm, 5741 St. James Lane, York, SC 29745.
