Rock Hill, SC – Jan C. Richardson, 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Piedmont Medical Center.
A service for Jan will be held at New Birth Baptist Church, 600 Annafrel St., Rock Hill, SC 29730 on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Tirzah ARP Church Cemetery, 6161 Mt. Gallant Rd, York, SC 29745.
Born in Seneca, SC, Jan was the daughter of the late Riley L. Cooper and the late Colleen Connally Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her son, Benji Richardson. She spent her years serving others, first as a mother to her 3 sons, then as a CNA at Divine Savior Hospital, and finally as a Quality Control technician at Oerlikon-Balzer’s. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Ed Richardson; two sons, Brad (Donna) Richardson, and Brandon (Kathy) Richardson; four grandchildren, Aimee Blackburn (Dalton), Riley Richardson, Marissa Richardson, all of Edgemoor, SC and Colton Richardson of Charleston, SC; and one great-grandchild, Ryan Blackburn of Edgemoor, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jan’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
