James “Jim” Edgar McKeown (69), of McConnells, SC went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ July 2, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim was born on July 16, 1954 to the late Betty Plyer McKeown Ashe and the late Albert Wallace McKeown from McConnells, SC. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 to 1975. Jim met his loving wife Suzanne in 1973 and they were married for 50 love filled years. Jim loved to go fishing with his son Jason and his grandson Jimmy. Jim was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, he attended Pete Wiley Sunday School class, and First Baptist Church of Lowrys.
Jim was predeceased by his father Albert Wallace McKeown and mother Betty Plyer McKeown Ashe; mother in-law Peggy Waldrep; father in-law Don Waldrep, and his daughter in-law Stacey Hoskins McKeown. Jim is survived by his wife Suzanne Waldrep McKeown of McConnells,SC; two children, his son, James “Jason” Edgar McKeown II (Robin) of McConnells,SC; his daughter, Hannah McKeown Evans (James) of York, SC and three grandchildren, Cassie McKeown Smith (Duffy) of Easley,SC, James “Jimmy” Edgar McKeown III (Zenaida) of Fredericksburg, Va, and Hailee Evans of York. He is also survived by his three siblings, Dorothy Burnette (Everett), Mac McKeown (Karen), and Sim McKeown (Margaret) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church Lowerys, 3981 Armenia Rd, Chester, SC 29706 on July 10, 2024 at 10am with the service to follow at 11am. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Zion Presbyterian Cemetery, Elm Rd and Cameron Rd, Chester, SC 29706.
