Iva Watts Addison, 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at her home in Rock Hill.

Mrs. Addison was born on August 21, 1931, to the late Lemuel Edward Watts and Hattie Bell Faile Watts in York County, South Carolina.  Mrs. Addison was a 1948 graduate of Rock Hill High School and in 1950, married the love of her life, George Addison.  They were married for 66 years until his passing in 2016.  Mrs. Addison worked for 28 years at the Rock Hill Bleachery and retired to continue serving her family in the home.  In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, house cleaning, and word search books.  She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  Mrs. Addison always took care of those she loved and she will be dearly missed.  The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Tiffany Vollman, Nicole Vasquez, and the entire Providence Care hospice team.

She is survived by her children, Charles “Chuck” Addison (Babs) and Robin Gaskins (Minor); her sisters, Lola Totherow, Patsy Dobbins, Betty Miller (Joe), and Mattie Haire; her five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, her late parents; and her brothers, Jimmie Watts, Bonnie Watts, Tommie Watts, and Frank Watts.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 9:00-9:45 AM at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 Anderson Rd S, Rock Hill, SC 29730.  A funeral service will follow at the church beginning at 10:00 AM, with Dr. Ron Richardson officiating.  Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the Catawba Baptist Church outreach funds or any hospice of one’s choice.
