Rock Hill, SC – Howard Joseph Stosich, 76, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at his home.
Howard was born on November 30, 1946, to the late Vaughn Thomas Stosich and Esther Smith Stosich, in Shelley, Idaho. He studied at Brigham Young University and attained a bachelor’s degree in French. He served his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Franco-Belgian mission from 1965 – 1968. On his mission he began a life long commitment of teaching others about Jesus Christ. After his mission service he went on a USO Tour to Vietnam and Thailand, where he shared his musical talents with the military troops in 1971. Howard loved music and was passionate about his work in piano tuning. He was a friendly, kind, and detail-oriented person. He never met a stranger and would often spend time getting to know his customers. He was always known for going above and beyond in his work. Howard married his dear wife, Sarah Groesbeck, in the Salt Lake Utah Temple on August 31, 1973. He would often refer to Sarah as his “the love of his life.” Through their 50 years of marriage, they raised six children, enjoyed many travels, and eventually served in the Adriatic North Humanitarian mission.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Groesbeck Stosich; his children, David Stosich (Karee), Rebecca Perlog (Toni), Elizabeth Tippetts (Brad), Joseph Daniel Stosich, John Stosich (Kira), James Stosich (Marie); 8 siblings; and 13 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his late parents and 2 siblings.
A funeral service will be held for Howard Joseph Stosich on Monday, July 17, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1130 Alexander Love Hwy, York, SC 29745. A viewing will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon.
