Chester, SC – Gloria Jean Roberts, 79, passed away on April 20, 2024. She was born in Sangerfield, NY to the late Roy and Lena Mae Kellogg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” F. Roberts; and her beloved dog, Dachsi.
She is survived by her son, Todd Dutch of Lincolnton, NC; two daughters, Tammy Dutch of Asheville, NC, Tracy (Chris) of Chester, SC; five grandchildren, Christian (Isa) Dutch of Concord, NC, Travis Dutch of Lexington, SC, Dylan Dutch of Asheville, NC, Ashlyn Tutkus of Rock Hill, SC, Drew Tutkus of Rock Hill, SC; and one great-grandchild, Noemi Dutch.
Gloria was a long-time member of Rock Hill First Wesleyan Church. She dedicated her free time to giving back to the Rock Hill community through Cheer for Children. As the Cheer Librarian, she thrifted a large part of the 121,000+ books gifted to local grade-school children throughout the years. She also served at A Hand Up thrift store, bringing new life to donated items for the community to enjoy.
An avid bowler of 30+ years, Gloria could be found at Striker’s every Tuesday night. She eventually traded one ‘B’ for another, enjoying the game of bingo her last few years. When not daubing a bingo card with friends, she could be found piecing her latest jigsaw puzzle together or participating in friendly competition on family game nights.
There will be Memorial Service at 1 PM on April 29, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732 with Reverend Mike Poore officiating. After the services, an inurnment will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Road, Rock Hill, SC, 29732.
