Glenn Jay Dixon was the son of the late Jesse J. and Margie E. Dixon and husband of the late Rebecca Dixon. He was a 1975 graduate of Rock Hill High School and attended York Technical College. He worked for Celgard LLC (formerly Celanese R & D/Hoechst Celanese) 26 years and other jobs in Rock Hill and Las Vegas, NV. He was a former officer and member of the Rock Hill Moose Lodge 1720.
Glenn was born with developmental challenges before special education was offered by Rock Hill School District 3. He attended The Rock Hill Orthopedic School where he received speech therapy and other educational opportunities. He started Rosewood Elementary as an older second grader and worked extremely hard to gain his high school diploma shortly after his 20th birthday.
He was a kind, hard working, sweet man and will be remembered by all he loved and who loved him. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Dixon Rinehart (Bobby), his stepdaughters, Carla Permenter and Carol Cornell, a niece, nephew, and 7 step grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Miracle Park in Rock Hill, SC or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Fairs Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.
He will be laid to rest at a later date.
