Fort Mill, SC – Gayla Marie Wilder, 74, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, died peacefully at home on November 6, 2023. She was born in Seward, Alaska, and graduated from Seward High School, of Seward, Alaska. Gayla earned a college degree from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Gayla Wilder was a devoted wife to her husband, Wes, for 41 years and a caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life: sewing, knitting, antiquing, baking, dancing, and spending time with family. Gayla instilled honesty, kindness, generosity, and independence in her children.
Gayla Wilder is survived by her brother, Michael Gay (Debra); daughter, Danelle Olson (Michael); son, Chris Wilder (Sara); nephews, Wes Price (Tisha) and Curtis Price (Heather); nieces, Corey Horton, Cherish Price (Jamie) and DaShel Price (Scott), granddaughters Kara Wilder, Charlotte Olson, and Anna Wilder, grandsons Cooper Olson and William Wilder, great-grand-daughter Lydia Wilder-Whitehead, great nieces Stephannie Verna (Mike), Samantha LaCasse (Jamison), and Bailey Hawthorne.
Gayla Wilder was preceded in death by her husband, Wes Wilder, father Bernard Gay, mother Virginia Lewis, and sisters Cheryl Gay Horton and Michele Gay.
