Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Esther Irene Babo Reynolds went home to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2023 at The Pearl in fort Mill, SC. We rejoice that she is wholly and completely healed now.
Funeral service will be Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Neely’s Creek ARP Church, 974 Neely Creek Church Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Visitation with family and friends will be at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 6:00 until 7:30 pm.
Mrs. Reynolds was born on July 4, 1935 in Erie, PA to the late Leo Cornelius Babo and the late Bertha Lucille Kessler Babo. She always told the story that the doctor was upset that he was called away from a July 4th picnic to deliver a baby. She was the youngest of four children. Her older siblings were Richard Babo, Dorothy Babo Bullock, and Donald Babo. Esther met Harold Reynolds in high school. Her best friend was dating his best friend. They were married February 24, 1955 in Honolulu, Hawaii where Harold was stationed in the US Navy. After moving back to Erie, PA, they had five sons, Jeff (Pam Jewell) Reynolds, Dana (LindySue Schaeffer) Reynolds, Greg (Lisa Brouillette) Reynolds, Brad (Donna Schwab) Reynolds, and Randy (Joanna Dingfelder) Reynolds. They later added sixth son, Rob James (Jennifer)Hutchinson to the family. Esther and Harold had many grandchildren; they include, Josh Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds (April), Jessica Reynolds Johnson (Matt), Travis Reynolds (Jessa), Cameron Reynolds (Rebekah), Caleb Reynolds (Courtney), Abbey-Grace Reynolds Ladka (Mike), Rebekah Reynolds, Andrew Reynolds, Katie Reynolds Stewart (Philip), Melody Reynolds Key (Aaron) and Kenneth Grizzle. Great-grandchildren include, Cree, Cooper, Ella, Raylan, Hitch, Ryn, and Conor. She also has many nieces and nephews. Esther and Harold moved to Rock Hill, SC in 1989 to be closer to their children, who had been migrating south. While in Rock Hill, Esther worked at Comporium Cable TV and as a pianist for Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by Harold on January 18, 2009.
