Mrs. Parrish was born in Rock Hill, SC and was the daughter of the late William T. Clinton and the late Cleo Pruitt Clinton. She worked for Celanese before finding her passion as a hairdresser, at the encouragement of her father. She was a beautician for over 50 years at various salons in Rock Hill and was a graduate of the first Cosmetology school in the area. Mrs. Parrish loved her Lord and Savior and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing church league softball at Highland Park and was an avid sports fan. On Saturdays, she could be found intently watching the Gamecocks and on Sundays, the Braves.
Her greatest accomplishment was her large family. She lovingly cared for her many grandchildren, watching after them while their parents worked. She also took great pride attending their sporting events. The yearly beach trips with the entire family were always a highlight for her and her husband. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed sharing her tasty baked goods with friends and family. She especially treasured fixing big meals for her growing family during the holidays.
Mrs. Parrish is survived by her loving husband of nearly 67 years, Donald W. Parrish, Sr; their children, Terri P. Land (Rick) of York, SC; Donald W. Parrish, Jr. (Pat) of Catawba, SC; Sherri S. Parrish of Chester, SC; and Jeff Parrish (Kim) of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren, Amber Shipman (Ricky); Ricky Land (Tori); Tanner Land (Melissa); Jake McAteer (Rebecca); Kinsey Long (Jeremy); Craig Kennington (Taylor); Clint McAteer (Jenna); Cody Parrish (Anna Rose) and Landry Parrish (Gaege); and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her seven brothers, six sisters, and two great-grandchildren, Ellie Grace McAteer and Levi Donald McAteer.
