Rock Hill, SC – Edward Ray Loflin, 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at HarborChase of Rock Hill on Constitution Boulevard.
The service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, June 3, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, with Rev. Michael Beeks and Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park – Hollis Lakes Road following the service.
Born in Rock Hill, SC, Ray was the son of the late Luther Loflin and the late Dora Roberts Loflin. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Cornwell Loflin, brother, Dub Loflin, Sr., brother, Wayne Loflin, and brother, Homer Loflin.
Ray served his country in the Pacific Fleet of the US Navy, followed by serving his community at the Rock Hill Fire Department for 33 years, retiring as Deputy Chief. Ray was a Free Mason and an active member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church for 48 years.
Surviving are his two sons, Steve Loflin (Paul) of Easton, MD and Gary Loflin of Rock Hill, SC; granddaughter, Kaylen Shannon (Cole) of Charleston, SC; and his sister, Mattie Hunter of Richmond Hill, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ray’s name to Miracle Park of Rock Hill, PO Box 37021, Rock Hill SC 29732.
