Rock Hill – Mr. Edward “Ed” Craig, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am-10:45 am. Burial will follow the funeral service at Laurelwood Cemetery.
Born in Rock Hill, Mr. Craig was the son of the late Houston R. Craig and the late Janie S. Craig. He was a United States Army veteran who proudly served his country. Mr. Craig was a self-employed painter for most of his life and was best known as Mister Ed. He was the owner of Friendly Mart for 18 years. Mr. Craig loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed being on his farmland with his tractors and gardening. Mr. Craig loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the widower of Mary Lee Craig, to whom he was married to for 54 years.
He is survived by his children, Renee Craig of Plum Branch, SC; Brian Craig (Amy) of York; Lisa West of Rock Hill and Allison Ziegler (David) of West Columbia; his siblings, Johnny Craig, Jay B. Craig, Jerry Craig, Dewey Craig, Kathleen Rockholt, and Wylie Craig; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
