Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Dorothy A. Ashley, 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at White Oak Manor – York.
A service for Mrs. Ashley will be held at Mt. Gallant Church of God, 1107 Mt. Gallant Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732 at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023, with Rev. Mike Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 pm-1:50 pm.
Born in York County, Mrs. Ashley was the daughter of the late George Walker Adkins and the late Lilly Kennedy Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Ashley, brothers, Jerry Adkins, James Adkins, Paul Adkins, Johnny Adkins, and Bundy Adkins, and her sister, Carolyn Adkins Lucas. She enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, sewing, and spending time with friends at the Senior Center.
Surviving are her two sons, James Michael (Deborah) Ashley of Rock Hill, SC, Kevin G. (Mandy) Ashley; daughter, Deborah Williams; brother, William (Peggy) Adkins; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Ashley’s name to Mt. Gallant Church of God.
