After a long, full, and happy life, Diane passed away in her sleep on Friday afternoon, December 6th
Diane Fanelty (aka DD) was born in New Jersey, the daughter of June and Peter DelMonte, and raised in upstate New York. Although she lived nearly three quarters of her life in the south, she never grew out of her NY attitude, always insisting (loudly) on having the last word.
Underneath the bluster, though, she was a warm and caring person who tried to make everyone around her feel good, even when she wasn’t feeling good herself. She was always bright and bubbly – the life of the party. While she could keep up with the heaviest drinker, except for an occasional party she hardly drank – mostly because she had to be designated driver for her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Chris; her sister Susan; her son, Segai; her brother Peter; and a whole host of friends.
In accordance with her wishes, no funeral is planned; but on her birthday, February 25th, there will be a remember-her-life drop-in at her home.
She wanted to be remembered as happy-go-lucky, not as an invalid. Please honor her wishes and wrap her memory around happy times.
