York, SC – Mrs. Debra (Debbie) Roxanna Cook, 63, of York, SC, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC.
Born May 9, 1960 in Rock Hill, SC, Debra was the daughter of the late John J. Wilson and the late Eva Walker Wilson. During her life, Debbie enjoyed fishing, camping, walks in the fields with her dog, and family holidays. Her greatest gift was making those around her smile and laugh. She was often seen driving around Rock Hill and York in her favorite Purple Ford Ranger truck. She especially loved her husband of over 37 years, Michael (Mike) Cook, and enjoyed spending time with him and their fur baby, Lucy.
Debbie retired from the Herald newspaper after 28 years of service and was with Winthrop University for 5 years. She was well loved by all those who got the chance to know her and work with her.
The family will have a visitation from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Michael F. Cook; her grandson, Harley Woods; her granddaughter, Tabitha Woods; her step-daughter, Angela Starnes; her five sisters, Minnie (Daniel) Cooke, Linda (Gary) Lawson, Ruthie (Tommy) Brindle, Kay (Bill) Trant, Mary Boatwright; her two brothers, Alex (Jennifer) Wilson; and Scott (Tammy) Wilson, as well as host of loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews who cherish her and will miss her greatly.
