Dean E. Collins, 82, passed away on May 1, 2024 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. He was born on November 16, 1941 in Lowell, MI to the late Ernest Collins and Vivian Shear Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Kunard.
He is survived by his wife, Carol J. Collins; son, Tad A. (Diana) Collins; three daughters, Stacey Collins, Dana Smith, and Dianna (Edgar) Orea; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Dean was mayor of Lowell in Michigan, member of the YMCA Board, and a leader in the community. He was a mechanical design engineer for Root-Lowell. He loved woodworking, horticulture, pickleball, and fishing. He was a mentor, loving grandfather, and our hero. He was loved by many and will be missed.
There will be a private ceremony in Lowell, MI.
