Ms. Carolyn Ruth Faucett Gill, 95, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 in Mechanicsville, Va.
A visitation will be held at 1:00-2:15 pm on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm in the Chapel with the burial at Grandview Memorial Park-Hollis Lakes.
A native of Charlotte, NC, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Everette K. Faucett and the late Ann Gilliam Faucett. She graduated from Central High School in Charlotte, NC. Carolyn spent her adult life in Rock Hill, SC where she devoted 34 years to working in the Anne Springs Close Library at York Tech. Her passion was to help others and by assisting and helping the students, faculty and staff at York Tech, she fulfilled this love.
Carolyn had many creative talents. She sang on the local radio as a young girl, was in the church choir, danced, sang and acted in several Come See Me Follies, played the piano by ear, was a skillful artist and became a published author of a children’s book.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Nick Gill of Rock Hill, SC; Kathy (T.C.) Tharpe of Mechanicsville, VA; three grandchildren, Guy (Toni) Tharpe, Craig Tharpe, Courtney (Andrew) Clough; seven great-grandchildren, nephews, Tommy (Susan) Gunderson, Dick (Katie) Gunderson, and the late Jerry (Sue) Gunderson, and many dear friends.
