Chester, SC – Carla R. Goolsby, 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Rock Hill Bible Fellowship, 1366 Amelia Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Carla was born Ruth Carla Vibeke Schiffer on October 13, 1948 in Kopenhagen, Denmark. She was the second child of the late Anna and Wilhelm Schiffer. They lived in Ingelheim Am Rhein, Germany. Carla was living in Wiesbaden, Germany when she met and married Senior Airman Fred Goolsby, from Cleveland, Ohio. They were married on December 29, 1979 in Rochester, NY before moving to Rock Hill, SC.
Carla enjoyed cooking and watching Rafael Nadal tennis matches. She attended Rock Hill Bible Fellowship Church in Rock Hill.
Surviving are her spouse, Fred Goolsby; daughter, Angela Schiffer; two sons, Kevin Schiffer and Terence Schiffer; two granddaughters, L’Brisha Carter and Brittany Nicole Schiffer; one grandson, Kevin Schiffer, Jr.; 5 great-grandchildren, Brennan Carter, Jade Carter, Simara Johnson, Kamari Johnson, and Iceland Schiffer; and two brothers, Peter and Kai.
