Rock Hill, South Carolina – Bryant F. Dawson, 58, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Bryant was known for his gracious, generous, and humble spirit, as well as his dedication, loyalty, and deep love for his family, friends, and work. He came to know the Lord while growing up at Ebenezer A.R.P. Church. He was a devoted father who lovingly cherished his daughter who was his world. His nephews and nieces affectionately called him “Mr. Fix-It.” Bryant adored his parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and spending time at the family lake house skiing, fishing, boating, laughing, and joking. A passionate sports fan, Bryant was a loyal supporter of Gamecock football, basketball, and baseball, the Washington Redskins, and the Atlanta Braves.
Bryant was a 1984 graduate of Northwestern High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a Production Technology Service Technician at Oerlikon Balzers for 32 years, during which he had the opportunity to travel to Europe, forming lifelong friendships both in the office and abroad. His colleagues often described him as a brother, noting his strong work ethic, warmth, humor, and knack for pranks.
Bryant is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Dawson; his parents, A. Dale and Mary Etta Gilbert Dawson; his sisters, Beth Dawson and Cami Hart; brother-in-law, Chris Hart; nieces, Caroline Halford and Addie Halford; nephews, Dawson Halford, Jackson Privette, and Banks Hart; and his aunts, Libby Gilbert and Brenda Pettus. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Archie and Mary Dawson, and J.R. and Elizabeth Gilbert, as well as several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel on Sunday, November 17, from 6:00 to 7:30.P.M. A service to celebrate Bryant’s life will take place at Ebenezer A.R.P.
